Konigsburg, E.L. (1996). A View From Saturday. New York, New York: Atheneum Books for Young Readers.
I just finished reading this book for the fourth or fifth time. It is a book that I never get tired of reading. It is beautifully written. I love the way the language flows. I enjoy the way the story is told from alternating points of view, yet flows seamlessly together. It a story about friendship, kindness, and the support of others. Often those things seem to be in short supply in our society. I like the idea of sitting down together once a week for tea at four. I think maybe that would move us forward as a culture. I also really like the trivia questions. This is a book that I know I will be reading another four or five times in the future.
