This book's illustrations are absolutely amazing and beautiful! One of the most interesting facts about this best selling books is that there is no text. The whole story is told by the gorgeous illustrations. I used this book for and interesting lesson with my first graders. I had each of them "read" the book to me individually while the other students were working on a different project. The range and depth of their stories were pretty fantastic. I then "read" the book to the whole group. The students then tried their hands at drawing their own illustration of the story. This is a neat book. I also enjoyed the author's note at the end which added another of layer of enjoyment.
