Montgomery, Sy (2004). The Tarantula Scientist. Boston, Massachusetts: Houghton Mifflin Company.
This nonfiction book is filled with beautiful photographs of tarantulas and their habitats. Is is written by a scientist in the field. The information is fascinating and the photographs are close up and detailed. The book provides information on the anatomy of spiders. What they like to eat, where they live and how they live. It is a book that will make kids look beyond the gross factor and hopefully help them develop an interest and an understanding of these amazing creatures.
The photographs in this book provide many close up detailed views of the spiders and their habitats. The pictures are all brightly colored. More than one would think that there would be in a book about spiders.
