This is a retelling of the classic fairy tale. The book starts of with Goldilocks going to purchase some muffins for her mother. She is warned not to take a shortcut, but Goldilocks does just that. She discovers the house of the three bears who have gone for a walk until their porridge is ready. Goldilocks proceeds to eat the porridge, break the chairs and sleep in the beds. The bears arrive home and discover her. Goldilocks runs home and the bears never see her again.
The style of the illustrations is one that works well for young children. The pictures are bold, bright and cartoonish which small children enjoy.The texture of the illustrations are very soft and round which makes for a comfortable feeling to a timeless story.
