Black and White

This award winning book is a work of art and imagination. When the reader first goes through the book it seems that it contains four stories that are occurring at the same time. When looked at more closely, it seems that the stories are connected to each other, so it could be just one story. There seems to be a story about cows, a train trip, a boy going home, and some strange newspaper wearing parents. The reader needs to look at all of the words and pictures very carefully.
This book has an interesting composition. Each of the four "story lines" is located in the same spot of the page each time. This leads to clarity of the substories. As the title implies this book is monochromatic. It is nearly all black and white with a little green thrown in.
