Cronnin, Doreen (2000). Click Clack Moo Cows That Type. New York New York: Scholastic.
Farmer Brown has a problem. His cows enjoy typing. So instead of just hearing mooing, he hears "click clack moo". This however is not his only problem. The cows are typing out lists of demands for Farmer Brown. When Farmer Brown did not meet their demands, one by one the farm animals went on strike. The animals and Farmer Brown were able to reach a compromise. In exchange for the meeting of their demands the cows gave up the typewriter. Unfortunately, it was discovered by the duck!
The shapes of the animals in the illustrations is nice and round as the depiction of things in nature generally are. The pictures are more impressionistic than realistic, yet there is no doubt what creatures they are. This design helps with the silly premise of typing barnyard animals.
